Curriculum Vitae – Geoffrey Stenzel

I studied electrical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Bochum, specialising in automation technology. Parallel to my studies in Bochum, I successfully completed a Bachelor of Science in European Engineering Studies at Coventry University in England.

After initial professional experience in consulting with customer assignments both nationally and internationally, I began to build up my expertise as an expert in the field of explosion protection with various testing and certification service providers in 2009. At the beginning, the focus was on electrical explosion protection, type of protection intrinsic safety. Later, as an expert and as a certifier in the field of explosion protection, I was authorised to test and certify electrical and mechanical equipment according to their common types of protection as well as to test plants requiring monitoring according to Directive 1999/92/EC. During this time, I have been involved not only with established mining suppliers but also with other well-known manufacturers of explosion-protected products and operators of explosion-protected systems.

Until recently, I was responsible for all Ex-related issues along the entire product life cycle (specification, development and documentation, external certification, conformity assessment, etc.) for a manufacturer of industrial automation products.

Thanks to my expertise and the contacts I have always maintained over the years, I have a broad network of testing and certification service providers, manufacturers and colleagues in the same field. The latter includes the long-standing contact with my colleague Günter Kämper, which also resulted in the succession of ExGuide Technology on 01.01.2020.
